RICHARD PETTY MOTORSPORTS
Wally Rogers joined the Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) family in 2008 with plenty of racing experience under his belt. His prior experiences include working on modified cars and serving as a chief mechanic for IROC from 1991-1995. In 1996, he became a mechanic for Andy Petree Racing.
Following this, he was a car chief for the No. 33 Winston Cup Chevrolet driven by Joe Nemechek and owned by Petree from 1997- 2000.
Rogers joined forces with Randy LaJoie at Evans Motorsports in 2001, winning the season-opening Nationwide race in Daytona. He then spent more than five years as a Truck and Nationwide crew chief at Kevin Harvick Inc.
Rogers first joined RPM as the car chief for Elliott Sadler’s No. 19 team. He, Sadler and the No. 19 crew already had a strong bond in place when he was promoted to crew chief.
“The biggest thing I like about Wally is his attitude,” Sadler said. “He’s very, very optimistic. He’s got a great rapport with the guys in the shop. He communicates very well.”
When he’s not working hard at the track or in the shop, Rogers enjoys spending time with his girls, boxing, golf, fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley.
